Where to watch
The path of totality begins in the Atlantic, crosses the Strait of Gibraltar (Cadiz and Malaga in Spain, Tangier in Morocco), then sweeps across North Africa through Luxor, Egypt, and on to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the Horn of Africa. Southern Europe, most of Africa, and the Middle East see a deep partial eclipse. This eclipse is not visible from the Americas.
Eye safety
Only during totality itself - when the Sun is completely covered - is naked-eye viewing safe. Before and after totality, and anywhere outside the path, use ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses or indirect viewing. Regular sunglasses are never safe.
